# Commerce overview

> Sales orders, fulfillment, shipping labels, and sales channels in adorabl.

**Commerce** is adorabl's order-to-ship lane — from confirmed sales orders through pick, pack, ship, and carrier labels. Everything scopes to your active **organization** and ties into inventory and accounts receivable when you invoice and collect.

Commerce setup lives under the gear icon. Use it to configure channel defaults, packaging, scales, and the Shopify connection.

## End-to-end order flow

Not every sale follows every step — wholesale may skip the order and start at invoice; sprepaid commerce orders invoice from shipment automatically.

## Prerequisites

**1. Master data**

Add [Customers](https://www.adorabl.info/accounts-receivable/customers.md), [Items](https://www.adorabl.info/products/items.md), and [Warehouses](https://www.adorabl.info/products/warehouses.md) if you fulfill from stock.

**2. Operations setup**

Complete warehouse addresses and ship-from defaults in [Operations setup](https://www.adorabl.info/products/setup/operations-setup.md) so [shipping labels](https://www.adorabl.info/commerce/shipping-labels.md) can quote postage.

**3. Optional channels**

Configure [Sales channel](https://www.adorabl.info/commerce/sales-channels.md) defaults. [Connect Shopify](https://www.adorabl.info/commerce/shopify.md) if you want Shopify products, locations, customers, and orders to sync.

## Troubleshooting

> **A fulfillment is not in the expected queue**
>
> Open the order's **Applied workflow** to confirm its fulfillment method. Customer pickup and external fulfillment methods skip parts of the in-house Pick, Pack, and Ship queues.

> **A Shopify order is missing**
>
> Open [Shopify setup](https://www.adorabl.info/commerce/shopify.md), click **Sync now**, and check **Exceptions** for a location or product mapping that needs a decision.

> **Commerce vs. Accounts Receivable — which group?**
>
> **Commerce** is demand and fulfillment (orders, pick). **Accounts Receivable** is billing and cash (invoices, payments). Many teams confirm and ship under Commerce, then invoice under AR.
