The Cash Flow screen helps Trail Ridge Outfitters see whether operating cash stays above a floor over the next 30, 60, or 90 days. A calendar shows when money moves, a projection chart rolls balances forward, and you can drag AP payments to test alternate pay dates — all without leaving Finance.

Prerequisites

  • Select the correct organization in the sidebar switcher.
  • For live bank activity on the calendar, connect accounts through Plaid. See Connect bank accounts.
  • Open AP bills and AR invoices feed predicted outflows and inflows automatically.

Open Cash Flow

1

Navigate

  1. In the sidebar, open Finance.
  2. Click Cash Flow.

KPI strip

Four tiles sit above the calendar:

Calendar

The calendar is the planning surface. Use the month arrows to move between months; today’s date is highlighted when you are viewing the current month. Each day cell can show: Click any chip to open the event detail panel — supplier, amount, bill number, account, and direction. View Details opens the invoice, the bill, or the recurring template behind the chip. Bank-feed rows have no document in adorabl, so that button is hidden.

Drag AP payments (local only)

Predicted AP chips are draggable. Grab a chip and drop it on another day to model paying a bill earlier or later.
Use drag-to-reschedule to answer “what if we push Apex Supply from the 15th to the 22nd?” before you commit to a payment run in Outgoing payments.

Save plan (coming soon)

The Save plan button appears in the header next to Auto-execute. Saving a cash plan — including dragged AP dates — is not yet available. When it ships, saved plans will persist rescheduled payments and support automated execution when actual inflows stay within tolerance.
Do not assume dragged AP dates are saved or sent to AP. They are a what-if overlay until Save plan is released.

Projection chart

Below the calendar, the projection panel charts cash balance over time:
  • Toggle the horizon: 30, 60, or 90 days.
  • A horizontal threshold line marks your floor.
  • The chart highlights the period low — the worst projected balance in the window.
The projection rolls forward from Cash position, adds predicted AR and bank inflows, subtracts AP, recurring outflows, and bank outflows, and respects any local AP drag overrides on the calendar.

Example: Trail Ridge Outfitters

Trail Ridge views July 2026 with a $2.0M floor and a 60-day projection:
  1. Cash position reads $2.4M, combining book cash with Chase Operating ••4521.
  2. Three AP chips cluster on the 15th — Apex Supply ($48k), UPS Freight ($12k), and a card payoff ($35k). The **period low** on the 16th drops to **$1.92M**, triggering a threshold alert.
  3. They drag Apex Supply to the 22nd. The projection recalculates — period low rises to $2.05M and the alert clears.
  4. They note the improvement but do not click Save plan — the move is session-only until that feature ships.
Posted Shopify payout deposits from Plaid appear as bank inflow chips on the 3rd and 17th, anchoring the forecast to real activity.

Troubleshooting

Connect accounts on Bank Reconciliation and confirm Plaid sync is current. Bank chips only appear within the fetched date range for the visible month and projection horizon.
AP reschedules are local-only by design until Save plan is available. Re-drag the chip or wait for the saved-plans release.
Check the threshold floor, projection range (30/60/90), and whether large AP chips sit on the same day. Drag AP to spread pay dates and watch the chart update.
Open invoices and recurring AR templates drive predicted inflows. Confirm receivables setup is complete. See Receivables setup.
