Organization settings control how your organization runs in adorabl. Use this hub for configuration that applies everywhere: users, document numbering, master data governance, and audit preferences. Domain-specific setup (payment terms, chart of accounts, payables approvals, and so on) lives under each area’s own Setup section. This page covers the org-wide settings only.

Open the Settings hub

1

Go to Settings

  1. Confirm the correct organization is selected in the organization switcher at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. In the sidebar, open Data & Admin.
  3. Click Settings.
adorabl opens the Configure the ERP platform page — the Settings hub for your organization.
2

Choose an area or detailed setting

The hub has two sections:
  • Areas — high-level setup grouped by part of the business
  • Detailed settings — shortcuts to frequently used configuration screens
For org-wide admin (users, numbering, governance), open Data & Admin under Areas.

Org-wide vs domain setup

If a setting affects only one part of the business — for example, dunning rules for invoices — configure it under Accounts Receivable setup, not here.

Data & Admin setup

From the Settings hub, click Data & Admin to open the admin setup checklist. The page shows your progress and groups settings into four sections: master data governance, users and roles, integrations, and audit and retention.

Master data governance

Track merge rules and document numbering at the organization level. To work with master records directly, open Master Data from the sidebar under Data & Admin. See Master data for field rename and duplicate review.

Users and access

Control who can sign in to your organization and what they can do.
  1. Click your organization name in the sidebar (bottom on desktop, top on mobile).
  2. Open the organization management option from the menu.
  3. Invite users by email or adjust access for existing users.
adorabl enforces role-based access and multi-factor authentication for your organization. Only admins should invite users or change access.
Before inviting your bookkeeper or ops manager, confirm the correct organization is selected. Invitations apply to the organization shown in the switcher.

Integrations

  • API clients — issue and scope credentials for middleware, connectors, and partner tools that read or write your data through the Partner API. See API clients.
Slack notifications and webhook subscriptions are listed as coming soon.

Audit and retention

adorabl records every change to bills, invoices, orders, receipts, fulfillments, customers, suppliers, items, employees, and setup rows.
  • Audit log — open the organization-wide change log. Search and filter by date, person, record type, and action, then click through to the record. See Audit log and record history.
  • Change log retention — coming soon: configure how long change history is kept.
Each record also carries its own Activity tab, and open orders and master records ask for a reason on material changes. Those controls are always on; there is no switch to turn history off.

Configure document numbering

Every invoice, bill, purchase order, and other document type can have its own numbering sequence. Set these up before your team creates live transactions so IDs stay consistent.
1

Open Next numbers

From Data & Admin setup, click Next numbers on the checklist — or open Next Numbers from the Detailed settings section of the Settings hub.You can also go directly from the sidebar: Settings → Detailed settings → Next Numbers.
2

Add a sequence

  1. In Add a numbering sequence, enter a Transaction type (for example, AR Invoice or AP Bill).
  2. Enter a Prefix (for example, INV- for invoices).
  3. Set Length — how many digits to pad (for example, 6 produces INV-000001).
  4. Set Range start and Range end to bound the sequence (for example, 1 to 999999).
  5. Check the Preview to confirm the next number looks right.
  6. Click Add.
3

Review and edit sequences

The table lists every sequence for your organization. For each row you can see:Click Edit to change a sequence, or delete one you no longer need.Numbers are assigned when a transaction is posted or submitted, not when a draft is saved. Drafts display as Draft invoice, Draft bill, and so on, so abandoned drafts never leave gaps in the sequence.
Changing Last number or deactivating a sequence affects new transactions only. Existing transaction numbers do not change.
See Next numbers for field definitions and examples.

Settings hub areas (reference)

When you need domain configuration, return to the Settings hub and choose the matching area:
Sales channels, pricing, and storefront defaults. See Sales channels and Receivables setup.
Warehouses, units of measure, item GL defaults, shipping account, and landed cost components. See Operations setup and Landed cost components.
Chart of accounts, fiscal calendar, terms codes, and bank connections. See Books setup and Connect bank accounts.
Supplier coding, approvals, and payment automation. See Payables setup.
Customer terms, credit policy, and collections. See Receivables setup.
Master data governance, users, and platform controls — covered on this page.
For a new organization such as Trail Ridge Outfitters, work through org-wide settings before daily operations:
1

Invite your team

Add users who need access through the organization menu.
2

Configure next numbers

Add sequences for invoices, bills, and purchase orders before creating live documents.
3

Complete Finance setup

Chart of accounts, fiscal calendar, and system accounts — see Books setup.
4

Connect bank accounts

Link banks for cash balances and reconciliation — see Connect bank accounts.
5

Configure domain setup

Finish payables, receivables, and operations setup for the areas your team uses day to day.

Troubleshooting

Expand Data & Admin in the sidebar. Settings is the second item under that group.
Confirm the sequence is Active, the transaction type matches the document you are creating, and you are in the correct organization.
Some checklist items link to a detailed settings screen. Open the linked page, save your changes, and return to the checklist — the status updates when configuration is complete.
That is usually domain setup, not organization settings. Check the Setup subsection under the relevant docs area (Commerce, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Books, or Products).

Quickstart

Sign in, select your organization, and learn the sidebar.
