Dunning rules tell adorabl when to follow up on overdue invoices. Each step runs once per invoice, in order, based on how many days past due the invoice is.

Open dunning setup

1

Navigate to dunning reminders

  1. Open Settings → Finance, or Accounts Receivable setup and click Dunning / collections cadence.
  2. Open Dunning reminders (under Finance setup → AR and AP automation).
You can also reach this from Receivables setup.

Configure a rule

1

Name and enable the rule

  1. Enter a Rule name — for example, Standard collections.
  2. Turn Enabled on. When off, adorabl skips this rule during the daily collections run.
2

Add reminder steps

Each step defines one reminder sent after the due date:
  1. Set Days past due — for example, 3 for a first reminder three days after the due date.
  2. Channel is email for all steps today.
  3. Set Template to identify which message to send (for example, reminder_1).
  4. Click Add step for additional reminders — a common cadence is 3, 14, and 30 days past due.
  5. Click Save rule.

Multiple rules

If you have more than one rule, use the rule tabs at the top of the page to switch between them. Click New rule to create a separate cadence — for example, stricter follow-up for high-balance accounts.
Dunning runs against open invoices in the organization you have selected. Confirm the correct organization before saving rules.
