Organization-wide inventory, cost of goods sold, and revenue accounts live on Default GL accounts, in Item GL accounts. The old Item GL defaults address opens that page.

Open item GL accounts

Navigate

  1. Open Settings → Finance.
  2. Click Default GL Accounts.
  3. Find Item GL accounts.

Inheritance

  • New items pick up these accounts automatically.
  • Item categories can override a role for every item in that category. The category shows Override or Inherit on Inventory GL, COGS GL, and Revenue GL.
  • An item record can override the category.
Add the natural accounts on Segments before you assign these roles.
