Open Segments
1
Navigate
- Open Settings → Finance.
- Click Segments under General ledger.
Account segments
adorabl builds full account codes from segments. The GL Account segment is required and identifies the account itself; dimension segments are optional tags that break the account across cost centers, regions, or other reporting axes.1
Review segment values
- Open each segment tab and review active values.
- Add or edit values to match how Trail Ridge Outfitters reports internally.
- Keep GL Account numbering aligned with the type ranges used on Chart of accounts — for example, 1000–1999 for assets or 6000–7999 for expenses.

Validate combinations
Use the validation rules on the page to confirm only allowed segment combinations can post. This prevents mis-coded journal entries and subledger transactions.
Assign an account group
Each GL Account can carry an optional Account Group used for reporting rollups (for example, grouping several revenue GL Accounts under Product revenue on financial statements). Set it on the GL Account and it appears on the Chart of accounts list.Preview valid combinations
Define which GL Accounts can combine with each segment value. For example:- Operating expenses by department — GL Account
6010–6070× all cost centers - Revenue by region — GL Account
4010–4040× regional codes
You no longer need to generate account combinations before posting. Invalid or out-of-scope segment and dimension values are blocked when you save or post the transaction.
