Journal entry types classify manual journal entries — for example Standard, Accrual, or Depreciation. Each organization keeps its own list under Finance setup. A manual entry needs a type before it can post. Reversals and system postings use Standard when no type is chosen.

  1. Open Settings → Finance.
  2. Under General ledger, click Journal entry types.
